“He First Served as a Private” painting by Carroll Burgoon

About the Painting:

This great country was born, grew, and prospers today on the blood, courage, and conviction of patriotic citizens that choose to stand up for the greater good of all Americans.

Not every one makes it home. The loss of one of our brave men or women in uniform impacts the lives of buddies on the battlefield, moms, dads, brides and children – who suddenly have to live with the harsh reality of freedom’s deadly cost.

In painter Carroll Burgoon’s artwork, “He First Served as a Private,” General Franks honors one of our fallen heroes as Patriot Guard Riders keep hecklers at bay by escorting the family to the hero’s final resting place.
General Tommy Franks is a small town, country boy, that earned his stripes and stars, spilling his own blood on the battlefield. Blessed with a wife sewn from the same fabric, it is amazing to see what a humble man can achieve. When the artist acknowledged his service, General Franks smiled, “It ain’t about the Ol’ Man.”

The artist created 500 signed/numbered limited edition prints. These are exclusively available at General Tommy Franks Museum, Hobart, OK and through the Museum Store online.

Priced at $265 ea. (includes S&H) #2 to #500 available.

There are 25 Artist Proofs numbered #1 to #25 available. They're priced at $495 each.
